Wynd House
“The best views in Elie”

Enjoy a unique stay in a historic home in Elie, in the beautiful East Neuk of Fife, Scotland.

Occupying a commanding lookout point over Elie harbour, this coastal home dates to the 11th century, and is situated just 10 miles from St. Andrews, in the heart of the village of Elie.

Wynd House is home to descendants of Admiral Sir Andrew Wood, ‘Scotland’s Nelson”, and we are the 11th generation of the Wood family to live here and welcome visitors.

More recently, the future King, Prince William and Catherine spent the occasional weekend  in Wynd House with family friends while they were students at St. Andrews.

Now it’s your turn…

whether you are visiting the East Neuk for golf, walking the Fife Coast Path, coming to visit St. Andrews or coming for a family seaside holiday.

The Wood motto is “Tutis in Undis” – Safe On the Waves.
From the comfort of one of the beautiful bay bedroom windows, keep a look out over Wood Haven bay and the Bass Rock for returning ships, for dolphins and seals.

With direct access from the private sea garden to sea swimming and our sauna, Wynd House is unique accommodation in Elie – we really offer a short break ‘wellness retreat’!

Wynd House is a stone’s throw from the famous Ship Inn pub and the local shops, and is on the Fife Coastal Path. The Elie golf courses, tennis andpadel courts and watersports at the harbour are a short walk, and Dumbarnie Links golf course is five minutes drive.

Wynd’s extensive ‘secret’ gardens are enclosed within a medieval stone wall, offering peace and privacy despite its central location in the village.
